Oh, I was incredibly bored and for some reason suffering from insomnia.. probably because it was too hot to sleep, so I was randomly looking through people in Ottawa's livejournals.
that sound really sad.. Oh well, there's some interesting people in this city of ours.
Well, it's a good way to get to know people beyond the surface. Most people put fairly personal stuff in their livejournal. It gives you a better picture of the person's character than if you meet him or her at a bar, I think. :P
Anyways, my livejournal is public precisely because I have nothing to hide and I like to meet new people. Maybe we can go for a coffee one of these days. :-)
My livejournal is friends-only because I'd like to know the people who are reading my thoughts. It's mostly private because I've had some bad experiences with bad people, and it's easier this way :)
I added you to my flist though.
In some ways I think meeting people over livejournal is better than any other internet site or public. It's a journal, unless you're some complete sociopath and have invented everything in your journal, it's easier to find out about people, what they're like, before hand. you're right, meeting in a bar, the person could be anyone.
I still have the problem that my mother (she was in law enforcement) would probably kill me if she found out I had met someone over the internet. *shrugs* That's why it's my life and not hers though.
